CHEMIST SPECIALIST

Position is located at Craig, CO at Tri-State’s Craig Station.

 

Tri-State is a Denver based progressive non-profit consumer owned wholesale supplier of electric power to 44 distribution cooperatives in CO, WY, NE and NM.  With over 1100 employees, Tri-State operates and maintains fossil fuel power plants with owned coal-fired capacity of 1826 megawatts, gas turbines with 526 megawatts of capacity, and over 5000 miles of high voltage transmission lines.

 

Responsible for providing support for the corporate chemistry program and individual plant chemistry programs.Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical EngineeringFive (5) years of progressive experience in utility chemistry programs.Working knowledge of laboratory safety polices and practices.Working knowledge of laboratory analytical practices and procedures.Knowledge of the use and application of laboratory procedures from Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, ASTM standards for water and coal analyses and EPA methods for water and wastewater analysis.Desire to work in coal and gas-fired power generation laboratory and plant operations areas.
