Chevron Project Resources Company (PRC) is currently searching for domestic and globally mobile Engineering Managers to be a critical member of the project team reporting to the Project Manager. Chevron (CVX) has a number of international and domestic onshore and offshore (Upstream and Downstream) major capital project opportunities. The capital cost of the projects ranges from $200MM to over $1.0 billion. The Engineering Manager position is a critical member the project team reporting to the Project Manager and is typically the lead person in the Engineering Office. Many of the project teams are located at our offices in downtown Houston, but some are co-located in contractor’s offices throughout the greater Houston are or at domestic or international sites. The positions will involve both domestic and international travel, including travel during weekends, and will likely involve relocation to domestic or international fabrication sites, such as the Gulf Coast of the USA, Korea and Japan, or rotational assignments to installation sites like Nigeria and Angola.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:•Provides leadership during front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed design and construction/installation phases of the project for all engineering disciplines.•Plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of multidiscipline owner and subject matter experts.•Develops budget and staffing plan to build a high performance, multi-functional team with expertise necessary to achieve project objectives. •Supervises company personnel and sets direction for experienced contract personnel.•Ensures that design work is integrated and compatible with the technologies involved and with construction and operating requirements.•Establishes objectives and expectations for implementation of all necessary Chevron Project Development and Execution Processes and tools, including obtaining “Best Practical” FEL and a competitive Cost Index when benchmarking.•Provides appropriate support for project activities, including procurement, construction and start-up activities from a design support standpoint.•Reports engineering progress to appropriate management. •Champions incorporation of Operational Excellence and Incident Free Operations in all aspects of project planning and execution. •Supervises and provides personnel administration, including training and career development, for Company assigned staff. Provides performance feedback as required for personnel on team and those seconded from Affiliates and JV Partners.•Responsible for supporting all contract negotiations and amendments. •Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:•Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering.•Minimum of 10 years experience in management of large oil and gas capital projects. •Experience in a Lead role for Oil Company or major EPC.•Project Management Training •A large percentage of the scope of work for downstream projects involves the revamping and upgrading of existing refinery facilities. Revamp work experience is desirable.•Candidate must be willing to relocate resident status potentially during several phases of the project, depending on contractor selection and their respective operating sites.•Previous experience managing project with new and/or revamp scope. Background in the design of process units and the integration of those units within an operating facility.•Project Expertise through entire project-Phase 2 (Concept Selection) experience in identifying and evaluating development alternatives. Phase 3 (FEED) & 4 (EPC) experience in planning and executing projects.•Knowledge of reliability and its effective integration into design.•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to communicate and influence at all levels.•Ability to work interfaces with various engineering disciplines and contractor and owner teams while fostering a strong team environment with minimal supervision.•This is a safety sensitive Position, candidate must be a strong safety champion who will lead the project in achieving “0” incidents and injuries and embrace incident & Injury Free (IIF) performance.•Knowledge of EPC contractor's workflow.•Knowledge of the environmental impact assessment process, the permitting process and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA).Relocation Options:•Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.If you are selected for the position, Chevron employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
