Headquartered in San Ramon, California, and conducting business in approximately 180 countries, the company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining; marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation.Chevron Project Resources Company is currently searching for domestic and globally mobile Project Managers to be the leaded of the specified project team. Chevron (CVX) has a number of international and domestic onshore and offshore (Upstream and Downstream) major capital project opportunities. The capital cost of the projects ranges from $200MM to over $1.0 billion. Many of the project teams are located at our offices in downtown Houston, but some are co-located in contractor’s offices throughout the greater Houston are or at domestic or international sites. The positions will involve both domestic and international travel, including travel during weekends, and will likely involve relocation to domestic or international fabrication sites, such as the Gulf Coast of the USA, Korea and Japan, or rotational assignments to installation sites like Nigeria and Angola.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:•Provides leadership in use of project management practices, including front-end loading and project execution planning. Identifies and completes all appropriate activities and develops cost and schedule estimates for the Appropriation Request (funding) •Develops budget and staffing plan to build a high performance, multi-functional team with expertise necessary to achieve project objectives. Manages Company project team and directs activities of design and construction contractors. Reports progress to appropriate management. •Develops key working relationships with JV partners, contractors and supplier senior management to establish reciprocating expectations and commitments to support the project objectives. Ensures that arrangements with community and local labor organizations are win/win relationships.•Plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of multidiscipline owner and contractor teams during front-end engineering and design (FEED) and detailed design and construction/installation and commissioning/start-up phases of the project. Construction may be under a single or multiple contracts at single or multiple sites, Champions incorporation of Operational Excellence and Incident Free Operations in all aspects of project planning and execution. •Supervises and provides personnel administration, including training and career development, for Company assigned staff. Provides performance feedback as required for personnel on team and those seconded from Affiliates and JV Partners.•Responsible for interface with other CVX entities: Business Unit Operations, etc., potentially in multiple locations.•Responsible for multiple EPC contracts of high complexity and risk to Company and OPCO. •Responsible for supporting all contract negotiations and amendments with subject matter expertise. •Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering•Minimum of 15 years experience in management of large oil and gas capital projects. •Experience in a Lead role for Oil Company or major EPC •Project Management Training •Previous experience managing large project with significant new and revamp scope.•Major Project Management Expertise - Phase 2 (Concept Selection) experience identifying and evaluating development alternatives. Phase 3 (FEED) & 4 (EPC) experience planning and executing large projects in a management role. •Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management practices and principles, and the development and continuous improvement of project management work processes. •Superior communication and stakeholder management skills. The Project Manager must be ble to communicate at all levels and have the ability to gain alignment and enthusiasm around reaching world class performance.•Ability to work interfaces with support groups and team members with multiple (matrix style) organizational reporting relations.•Experience in a leadership role in the development and management of multifunctional teams, including teams located in multiple Company and Contractor locations.•Ability to interface and effectively work with various groups and cultures involved (partners, Technology Companies, Government. agencies, Contractors, Operations, business unit management, etc.).•Experience developing strong safety program (integrating contractor's individual safety programs) based around commitment to Incident & Injury Free (IIF) performance - specific examples required.•Broad commercial skills, and knowledge of economic evaluationsRelocation Options:•Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.If you are selected for the position, Chevron employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Project/Program Management
