Civil Engineer

Our client is designing, and will build, commission and operate a Salt Waste Processing Facility.  This is the first of its kind processing facility for the DOE.  As the Senior Civil Engineer you will be applying extensive and diversified technical  knowledge in the preparation of Civil/Site Drawings, supporting Calculations and Specifications. Exercises independent judgment in making decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a significant impact on other engineering activities. This level of Engineer is a highly qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices. Professional registration or the ability to obtain licensure within nine months is preferred. Duties include supervision of Civil Designers in the production of deliverables. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.Ensures compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract. DOE experience and in-depth knowledge of IBC 2003, AWWA, AREMA, and SC Storm Water Regulations is preferred.The successful candidate will have the following education/experience:   Minimum requirement is a BS degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of related work experience. Experience in the following Civil Engineering areas is desired—Site Design, Grading, Drainage, Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer, Roads, Paving, Preparation of Specifications, Material Take-offs, Cost Estimates, Permitting Support, Construction Inspections. Computer proficiency and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects are required. Typically requires a professional registration. Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. What you should know about this opportunity:  This is a long term contract (may go perm in the future) opportunity. In addition to the hourly rate, if you live out of the area, you will receive $700/week per diem.
