Based at our North America corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, and reporting to the Project Manager, Construction Acciona Energy North America seeks a dynamic multi-task individual to manage the every day activities of the construction of wind farms.

 

RESPONSIBILITITES:Act as Owner’s Engineer.Responsible for ensuring engineering and construction at the project sites conform with Acciona Energy North America standards, including road work, foundations, collection systems, erection, substation, interconnection and commissioning.Coordinate engineering activities from pre-construction to commissioning of the wind farm.Ensure the project schedule is followed according to plan.Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with all subcontractors involved in the construction of wind farm.Organize and track all the quality control and logistic documents.Coordinate with Project Manager and implement solutions to the encountered problems during the construction.Interact with property owners and public officials during wind farm construction.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or electrical engineeringAbility to spend 50 -100% of time at the project sites during the constructionDemonstrated ability to manage several activities at once, to organize / prioritize work, to meet deadlines and to prepare reportsAbility to interact on a daily basis with contractors and sub-contractors and act as Owner’s Engineer Ability to interact with the land owners, city, county and state officials and the general publicAbility to be a leader in SafetyExperience in quality management / quality control processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD requiredDriver’s License requiredFluency in Spanish is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Working conditions are normal for a construction environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, work gloves and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
