Control Automation Coordinator - East Texas

Organizational Statement Enbridge Energy, a leader in natural gas and crude transportation, has an opening for an Automation Coordinator. This position will be located in our East Texas District. The Control Automation Coordinator provides for the design, implementation and support for field and plant control systems and interface to SCADA applications within the U.S. pipeline division.Responsibilities Supervises and works directly with plant I/E Technician, field automation control technicians and SCADA technicianProvide supervision, direction, and mentoring of control/automation staff.Creation of control system standards and documentation including architecture, applications, hardware and softwareAssist in due diligence of control systems evaluation of potential acquisitionsDirects on-call support for control systems.Supervises design, construction and installation of Compressor control systems.Supervises design, construction and installation of gas plant control systems. Configures PLCs and assist in troubleshooting existing programsMonitor the condition of equipment and predict timing of maintenance.Administers and maintains existing control system and improvements caused by expansion and improvements.Make recommendations and implement solutions for units that require analysisAdvises Team members and participates in special projects as needed.Reviews schematics and P&IDs with customers to implement improvements in control methodsOther Information Working Conditions:Requires adequate vision, hearing and ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Working in an office environment with field travel. Moderate travel away from primary assigned work area. Provides periodic on-call support on a 24 hour a day basis, including weekends and holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is periodically exposed to outside weather conditions that include wet and/or high humidity, extreme heat, and extreme cold. The employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, explosives, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, can be very loud. Will require ability to drive a vehicle and lift at least 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and, taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must have valid drivers license and is subject to DOT random drug testing.Qualifications High School Diploma and/or some college preferred.Will have PLC ladder logic programming expertise. Will have a thorough understanding of Wonderware and control logic. Will have experience in communication systems such as radio, satellite and telephones. Will understand various protocol and PLC programming languages.
