Position Overview:Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Reservoir Engineer – Cook Inlet Gas, located in Anchorage, Alaska.This Reservoir Engineering position is involved in all aspects of asset development in the Cook Inlet basin, which has both oil and gas dominated fields. The position is challenging from a technical perspective with complex geology and petrophysics, exposing the selected candidate to unique, yet valuable, work experience which can apply to anywhere in the world. Individuals in this position will gain a valuable understanding of drilling operations and project management in a remote, high-cost environment, as well as experience working and communicating effectively in a multifunctional work group.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Utilize standard applications such as Material Balance, Nodal Analysis, Pressure Transient Analysis and Economic evaluation. • Play a critical role in identifying and developing opportunities within and near existing mature fields. • Coordinate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have: • A Bachelor’s Degree.• A basic understanding of evaluating asset development opportunities by integrating geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and reservoir data.• Experience in asset development to include grass roots wells, laterals, horizontals, sidetracks, re-drills, and workovers for both onshore and offshore locations.• A high level of knowledge/experience at reserves and risk assessments through Material Balance, Nodal Analysis, Pressure Transient Analysis, and Economic evaluations.• Act as Team representative for reservoir management tasks including booking reserves, depletion plans and development optimization.• Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, reservoir management plans, development proposals and economic evaluations. • The desire and ability to rapidly learn and develop proficiency in critical technical areas such as petrophysics and reservoir management.• Well developed decision making skills and the ability to perform under the pressure of completing projects within a limited seasonal work window.• Sufficient personal flexibility to travel, as necessary, to operational locations on an infrequent basis.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:• A Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
