VASS Pipe & Steel Co., Inc. is one of the nation's leading distributors of carbon steel pipe serving the Oil, Gas, and Energy industries. We cater to a variety of customers ranging in industry from oil country, off-shore drilling, construction, pipeline construction, fire sprinkler, water well, and many others.
We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our Customer Service department: (Mineola, Long Island, NY office only)
Responsibilities:
Manage all documentation for customers as well as vendors. This includes Mill Test Reports and all shipping/receiving documents.
Work with sales and logistics departments to ensure all documentation is sent to customers in a timely fashion (by email, fax, etc.)
Request all missing documents not on file from vendors, steel mills, and warehouses
General clerical support for sales staff (filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning)
Will "wear several hats" and perform various duties as needed by management. This may include assisting the sales dept., logistics dept., etc.
Take incoming phone calls as necessary - respond to and resolve customer complaints/inquiries
Requirements:
At least 2 years of office administration experience
Professional conduct and customer service oriented. MUST have a polite phone manner
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high volume environment
Computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Solid basic math skills
Strong communication skills are essential
