Data Warehousing /Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description:The IT Senior Software Developer will be a key member of the Data Warehouse Development group supporting Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence development lifecycle practices. The candidate will be primarily responsible for reviewing/finalizing project requirements, preparation of high level/commit level estimates, participating in System Design creation, Detail design specifications and testing strategies. Development activities will span all Line of Business (Commercial Operations, Finance, Generation, Transmission and Distribution). Additionally the candidate will provide project leadership for small/medium/large projects, have the ability to multi-task on projects based on Business priority, participate in EAD initiatives and Data domain working groups

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Contribute substantially in the implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using standard, approved technologies. (Informatica and Business Objects.)• Contribute substantially in DW/BI development lifecycle from business requirements to development of logical design, translation to physical design, integration and reporting solution.• Ensure all DW/BI components are of the highest quality and QA processes are adhered to.• Cross train and mentor other developers in efficient delivery techniques. • Project estimating and resource planning.• Contribute substantially in technical review of ETL/BO design reviews with peers. • Collaborate with the Support team to define standards, perform design/code reviews, review system test/UAT plans • Provide thought leadership around DW/BI strategy.Job Experience:QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: • Hands-on expertise in designing complex Business Objects Universes, simplifying data structures for optimal User Experience.· Hands-on experience with Metadata Management solutions.• Hands-on experience in all aspects of DW/BI SDLC.• Experienced in data analysis, data modeling techniques (STAR schema approach)• Knowledgeable in SOA, EAI, and EIM concepts.• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.• Expertise (7 years) in designing, developing complex Analytical, Decision Support Systems using Business Objects products.• Hands-on experience with DW/BI features of IBM DB2 UDB.• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, ability to coordinate meetings, resolve project development issues as they arise and good interpersonal skills• Effective verbal and written communication skills
