Deputy Project Manager Power Generation

Currently, we have several long term contract openings for Deputy Project Managers at General Electric’s Energy Power Generation Projects Group in Schenectady, NY. The scope of services comprises the management of equipment projects production, delivery, and installation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·  This position will provide routine coordination and follow-up of project issues in accordance to pre-established project schedules.

·  Work autonomously and not require day-to-day supervision.

·  Limited decision-making authority and customer contact.

·  Will not be expected to conduct customer negotiations or initiate scope and/or schedule changes.

·  Provide Department Level support for equipment project design, delivery and installation.

·  Support Operation Design Manual (ODM), pre-installation and all other project specific meetings.

·  Support GE Project Managers in the execution of the contract.
Understand contract deliverables.

·  Take incoming client correspondence – distribute internally – collect responses and communicate back to the GE Project Manager.

·  Review and take actions to ensure material deliveries meet contract requirements.

·  Track documents for release and client comments to support material ordering.
Prepare action items for resolution by the PM.

 

 REQUIREMENTS: BSME or BSEE degree, preferred Three to five years Power Plant experience required (field, commission, start-up, operations)  GE product line familiarity (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generators) is mandatory.
