ACCIONA Energía, through ACCIONA Wind power, designs and produces wind turbine generators using in-house technology based on its experience as the largest wind energy developer in the world. The AW-1500 turbine was designed from the perspective of the wind farm owner and since its introduction in 2002, has manufactured and installed over 600 AW-1500 wind turbine generators worldwide.
Based at our West Branch, IA facility, Acciona Wind power North America, LLC seeks a Director, Contract Administration. Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, this position will serve as a key member of our senior leadership team responsible for contract preparation, compliance, and audit for the division’s inter-company and external contracts associated with Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) sales, installation, commissioning, subcontractors, suppliers and international affiliates. Additionally, the Director will support proposal development activity related to business development by assuring the timely and accurate response to request-for-proposals to include collecting and organizing financial, technical, commercial terms and legal information.
Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for all contract administration and management activity in accordance with company policies, applicable legal requirements, customer specifications and financial reporting obligations. Develop negotiation strategies and either lead or co-lead negotiations for the review and award of agreements/contracts for Turbine Erection, Turbine Supply and Installation, O&M, Warranty, Service, Change Orders and other certain subcontractor framework agreements. Serve as the primary North American point of contact for receipt and development of quotations in support of Request-for-Proposals related to WTG sales. This includes the coordination of NDAs, creation of a standard quotation template, gathering of technical information and final quotation preparation for review by company leadership for presentation to the customer.In coordination with Finance Department and project management, report on the financial performance of each support or sales contract.Assure agreements/contracts meet the company’s Quality and Safety standards to include federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, where applicable. Implement a robust contract compliance audit process to assure the company meets all obligations associated with current and on-going contracts. This includes regulatory, reporting, legal, human resources, and technical terms and conditions.Identify, analyze and implement cost reduction opportunities associated with our contracts.Participate at wind farm construction project reviews with customers and contractors.Analysis of WTG O&M and warranty cost performance against budget. Assure all personnel and subcontractors meet company’s technical and Safety training requirements.Travel to project sites, customer and supplier meetings required (20% travel)
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline. MBA degree a plus.5 - 10 years experience in Contract Management required with 3 years concentration in the wind energy industry is highly desirable.Strengths will include excellent communication skills, organizational ability and positive leadership traits. In depth knowledge and use of negotiation skills.Ability to successfully interact with key customer’s executive, development and construction management.Excellent written and oral communications skills with proven track record in successful negotiations with engineering and construction firmsAbility to perform technical, economic feasibility analysis, and financial modelingMust possess a working understanding of contract administration, cost accounting, budgeting and compliance.Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
