Director Operations and Support
Singular director-level position, reports to VP, and acts as a chief of staff, representing the VP as required. Position works with the VP, and with external and internal stakeholders, to ensure a level of security and claims management appropriate for this critical infrastructure company. Position provides classic operations support to the (combined) security and claims practice area leads (managers) to ensure successful mission accomplishment. Position directly supports 6 practice areas: claims financial recovery, claims facility relocation, homeland security, asset protection & investigations, information security & forensics, and office administration. Responsible for $15m operations budget, creating business cases for multi-million dollar capital projects, and providing all requisite tactical resources to this 50+ associate, high-exposure, high-profile department. Position requires a working knowledge of Process Quality Management Improvement (PQMI) and must be conversant with scorecard and benchmarking processes, analyses, and trending. Position routinely deals with high echelon decision and policy makers in government, regulatory agencies, and offices of homeland security, law enforcement, and intelligence. Position collaborates with internal peers (directors) from the various PSEG companies, as well as with PSEG’s senior leaders, including its CEO and group presidents. Assists VP with setting strategic direction, and seeking-out synergies and process improvements on a continuum. Familiarity with IT systems integration for those specialty applications used by security and claims is necessary. Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in any business or social science discipline.
Post-undergraduate education in Business, Finance, Strategic Management, Administration, or Security Management.
Minimum 7 years security experience in electric and /or gas industries, e.g. fossil or nuclear generation, electric transmission; electric/gas delivery.
Professional affiliation with major private security, and industry, organizations such as ISMA, ASIS, ACFE, EEI, AGA, NERC, PJM. Knowledge of insurance and claims industry practices.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification (by exam).
Desired: JD or Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Strategic Management, Administration, or Security Management. 10 years at CSO, Director (or equivalent title) level of major, Fortune 500, corporate security organization. Background combination which includes corporate, public law enforcement, and military. Proven experience in provision of comprehensive security outside the United States (OCONUS). CPP and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certifications.
