Director of Business Development

To serve as lead in managing, generating, and obtaining new business with a focus on Indiana water and wastewater operations and related services.

This position will directly report to the VP of Planning and Development at Veolia Water Indianapolis, LLC (VWI) and is responsible for all other duties as outlined by the Vice President.

The work is perofrmed with considerable independent judgment and initative exercised in managing and developing new projects.  These efforts are in collaboration with Veolia Water North America resources as needed.

Essential Job Functions:Identify qualified opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with water and wastewater utilities.  These relationships will target opportunities in Indiana and other areas as approved. Critically apply market and business sectors knowledge toward the formation of pre-qualified opportunity and client lists. Develop and administer new business development database which includes prospect information and status. Assist with the company's response to requests for proposals and bid opportunities once qualified opportunities have been identified. Establish working relationships with public and private sector leaders and business peers to promote Veolia's business model and related product and services.

Education & Experience:Bachelor Degree, or equivalence of related experience and training. Quality customer service skills and high work standards with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information. Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction and oversight. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills. Skills in management, communication, negotiation, analysis, organizational planning, presentation development and delivery. Knowledge of Company's product and service offerings. Proven experience with the basic models of municipal outsourcing, including O & M outsourcing, design-build-operate initiatives.
