Sandhills Utility Services, LLC (SUS) a progressive, forward thinking Electric Utility company; serving the U.S. Army facility of Fort Bragg, has an immediately available long term opportunity for an Electrical Engineer focused on Distribution Forecasting. Located on the base in Fort Bragg, NC, 75 miles south of Raleigh, the position affords challenging and meaningful work, in a location with extensive local opportunities and close by urban amenities. The position will be responsible for assigned engineering and operational functions of the company: includes development and planning of long-range engineering studies and work plans, administration of system sectionalizing model, administration of substation relaying, development and updating of system engineering model, compliance with applicable, planning of new electrical facilities and expansion of existing facilities, and addressing power quality issues. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Successful candidates should have a minimum of five years experience designing overhead and underground distribution, transmission and substations at electric distribution utility. Experience with windmill software and distribution forecasting are also highly desirable. Prior experience in a military environment a definite plus.
