About the Opportunity Master Scheduler is a planner, scheduler and coordinator. This position is involved in planning and executing work within schedule and budget. The Master Scheduler works with the construction services management personnel to ensure in-house resources are utilized in the most effective and efficient manner with the most cost effective mix of in-house versus contractor resources. The Master Scheduler is responsible for monitoring all project activities which includes keeping track of current conditions, identifying when these conditions become detrimental to the project' success and making suggestions for placing projects back on track. This position will provide key and timely assistance to Project Managers and report the status of the portfolio and individual projects to management; be the local administrator for the schedule database which includes the maintenance of security; interface with Planning representatives to schedule engineering activities in concert with construction deadlines; work with procurement people when determining need dates for equipment; provide key assistance to Project Managers when available; conduct meetings as required to communicate project schedules, receive status and work through issues; track project issues and communicate them to the appropriate parties; work with cost personnel to ensure scheduled work is aligned with approved budgets; build schedules based upon information supplied from multiple sources such as drawings, specifications, estimates and inputs from Project Mangers and field supervision; coordinate, collect and process schedule information that reflects new work, progress on existing work and changes to plans; provide feedback to Project Managers and Management as to the status of all projects under his/her responsibility; analyze schedule results and make recommendations to improve the performance of projects that are not progressing satisfactorily as well as those that are on track; work with other schedulers to ensure the corporation's portfolio of projects are scheduled correctly; work with maintenance organizations to ensure their resources are modeled correctly in the schedule and provide these organizations information that will assist them in determining how they will assign their work; perform what-if analyses, and develop reports and screen views that will be utilized by Project Managers and management for decision-making; develop and manage automated processes provided within the scheduling software;find and extract information from within SAP; periodically conduct and contribute to management presentations; lead by example, educate and direct others on technical subject matters, improve programs and process effectiveness and make significant contributions to the achievement of goals and objectives.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or candidates possessing over 5 years of related project management/scheduling experience.
Project management skills are required with a demonstrated ability to develop, manage and control multiple tasks.
Experience with a project management tool such as Primavera, MS Project, etc with related Scheduling/Resource Planning expertise is a plus.
This position requires demonstrated skills in leading and managing change, critical thinking, and agility to achieve results in new challenges.
Success in analyzing data to create actionable recommendations is a requirement for this position.
Candidates for the position must have analytical and quantitative skills to research, evaluate, and develop recommendations for improvements.
Experience with key ED&CS systems such as CREWS, PowerOn and AMFM is a plus.
Developed PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access are required.
