ENERGY RESOURCE COORDINATOR

 

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is a wholesale electric power supplier owned by the 44 electric cooperatives it serves.  Tri-State generates and transports electricity to its member systems throughout a 250,000 square-mile service territory across Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming.

 

The Energy Resource Coordinator (ERC) position is a merchant function and is responsible for real time scheduling and dispatch of Tri-State-owned and contracted generation resources fueled by coal, natural gas, fuel oil, hydro, and in the near future, renewable sources.  Additional responsibilities include coordination with a Real Time Marketer to optimize resources versus energy markets in order to economically balance member loads and serve long-term power supply agreements.

 

Job Requirements:

 

·  ERC – A minimum of 8 years of related experience on an interconnected electrical system or 5 years as an electric utility reliability dispatcher.

·  Associate ERC – A minimum of 5 years of related experience on an interconnected electrical system or related field or 3 years as an electric utility reliability dispatcher

 

·  This is a shift position that requires occasional overtime.

·  Must obtain and maintain NERC certification.

·  Must be able to remain calm in stressful conditions and effectively prioritize and multi-task.

·  Familiarity of NERC and WECC standards, policies and business practices.

·  Knowledge of electric utility systems, equipments and operations including familiarity with whole electricity markets.
