EXPERIENCED ENGINEER

The Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) is recruiting for an experienced engineer.  RCA engineers analyze a variety of data and provide expert advice to Commissioners who regulate Alaska’s oil and gas pipelines, including Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), natural gas, electric, water, wastewater, and refuse utilities.  An RCA engineer develops broad expertise in industries which impact Alaska’s economy and as such, play a critical role in the Alaskan regulatory environment. RCA engineers must be highly motivated as much of the analysis is performed independently within strict time lines. Most communication is written, so strong writing skills are required.  Engineers also provide the recommendations verbally, and therefore must be able to respond to inquiry and participate in debate.  This position requires a minimum of five years engineering experience or three years of graduate coursework in engineering and professional experience with two years of utility engineering experience.

 

Monthly salary ranges from $5,361.00 - $5,940.00 Salary May Vary.

Effective7/1/2008 salary will increase to: $5,522.00-$6,118.00Salary May Vary. Monthly.

 

The RCA is a great opportunity for those in the Lower 48 wishing to move to Alaska.  We may have flexible summer hours which allow time for fishing, hunting and experiencing the great outdoors.  Alumni RCA engineers have taken positions in the oil industry, federal pipeline agency and other important state engineering positions.
