We are currently seeking an Electirical Engineer.



 

 

Electrical Engineers assist with the design, management and execution of plant capital and maintenance projects dealing with improvements or new installation of electrical and control systems throughout Wah Chang.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

§ Assist with the analysis and interpretation of an operational department’s needs for new systems.  Investigate the reasons for the request and determine how a new system would interact with existing systems.

§ Design a cost effective new or replacement electrical/control system that meets applicable codes (electrical, building, OSHA, EPA, etc.)

§ Prepare cost estimates, schedules and performance objectives for capital and expense projects.  Assist in the preparation of specifications for obtaining competitive bids from contractors to complete assigned engineering projects.

§ Review submitted bids, estimate labor costs, downtime costs, and material costs to develop a budget and make recommendations to management.

§ Direct the electrical and control systems projects by coordinating with plant maintenance, electrical contractors, and operations departments.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 4-5 years design/project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.  Must have a good understanding of a wide variety of electrical and control systems.  Heavy industrial engineering experience and strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices is required.  Knowledge of  power distribution systems would be helpful.  Successful candidate must work well with others in a team environment and be willing to share information and knowledge.  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.  FE certification is desired.
