Electrical Engineer, SES

We are a global leader in the engineering and design of electric generating stations, technical advisory and power plant operations services with a primary focus on the energy and infrastructure markets.. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to work in the Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Department of  Engineering Resources and Planning business area.

 

The selected candidate will be assigned to the home office in Melville, New York.  Duties will focus on the design and engineering of fossil fueled power plants and electrical transmission substations. Candidate must have an undergraduate degree in Engineering with coursework that included electrical engineering courses (courses in power systems and control systems desirable).

 

Candidate will be assigned to work with a project team and be involved with the engineering and design of large fossil fueled power plants (natural gas, oil, coal, biomass fueled plants) and electrical transmission substations.

 

Duties will include working with the project team to produce engineering documents and perform the work described below.

 

· Preparation of One Line and Three Line Diagrams.

· Perform engineering calculations for electrical system analysis such as load flows, short circuit, motor starting, etc.

· Perform calculations for sizing of electrical equipment.

· Preparation of equipment specifications.

· Preparation of Control Logic Diagrams

· Preparation of Control Wiring Diagrams.

· Preparation of equipment lists, Cable and Raceway lists.

· Engineering of plant control systems.

. Provide technical direction to the other members of project team.

 

 

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.  Candidates with a background from a utility, major equipment supplier or from an Architect Engineer are preferred. 

 

Strong communications skills required to function effectively among diverse groups.  Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.  Ability to travel domestically required.
