Job Description This Engineer would be responsible for reviewing and providing comments to high level engineering deliverables (PFDs, UFDs, P&IDs, Single Lines, Equipment and Material Specifications and Material Selection Guides) developed by internal and external engineering resources as they relate to the chemical and process aspects of the proposed facility. The purpose of this review is to insure the final plant design incorporates standards and values that are consistent with Duke Energy’s existing facilities.  In addition this candidate would be responsible for developing similar documents for Duke Energy’s Scope of Work.  Candidate will also support field engineering activities and be a resource to the construction effort as the project progresses.  Successful candidate should exhibit willingness to provide leadership and mentoring to less senior engineers and CO-OP students.  Candidate must be available and willing to travel to locations where contract engineering resources and or vendors and suppliers are located.   Basic Qualifications Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles. Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.  Good written and oral communication skills.
