Electrical Relay Protection and Control Engineer

Smartlink, LLC is actively looking for a relay protection and control engineer to perform relay setting calculations and studies on electrical substations projects.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates should have Bachelors Degree or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering. PE registration desirable but not required.
• Specific experience with high voltage substation projects such as transformers and circuit breakers.
• Experience performing system analyses including relay coordination, grounding, load flow, short circuit, and stability and power quality studies for high voltage substations.


DUTIES:
• Lead relay protection and control activities for HV and EHV electrical substation projects.
• Perform fault analysis, relay coordination studies and relay settings.
• Develop equipment specifications for major substation equipment and expected to determine settings for capacitors, regulators, and system protection devices.
• Prepare and/or review engineering and design for HV and EHV electrical substation projects.
• Check and approve P&C related work of other team members.
• Provide engineering support for project installation, commissioning, checkout and troubleshooting.
• Participate in project scheduling, resource planning, and cost control for assigned projects.
• Contribute to developing of system-wide protection standards for transmission and distribution station protection and control applications.
