We have an opening for a Energy Manager to work out of our Syracuse, Vestal, Buffalo, or Hawthorne offices.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years experience in the analysis, design, commissioning and start-up of energy generation systems (boilers, chillers, cogeneration, etc.). Actual operations experience is a plus. Good communications skills and the ability to work directly with clients is essential. Education requirements: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering preferred. Professional credentials: PE or ability to achieve preferred. LEED AP and/or CEM desired.  Knowledge of renewable and alternative energy markets a plus.

Areas of expertise required are as follows:
Thorough understanding of utility systems and the ability to diagnose problem issues Ability to identify efficiency improvements and design of upgrades to implement Reliability assessment/improvement Familiarity with industrial based PLC and Digital control systems logic Ability to lead a team to perform energy audits, energy studies and energy master plans. Work closely with customers to improve the reliability and efficiency of their utility systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers and pumping systems Identify and analyze root causes of system degradation or failure Identify opportunities to improve system performance as part of overall energy conservation management program  Perform initial feasibility studies for energy conservation projects, including preliminary design, review of project electrical, mechanical and structural requirements, cost estimates, project savings and overall life cycle cost analysis Experience with developing life-cycle costing and financial pro-formas to assess ROI for efficiency improvements Good written & verbal communications skills
