Position Title:  Energy Specialist – Biofuels

Job Description:  Under the supervision of the Director for Energy Initiatives, the Energy Specialist – Biofuels is responsible for supporting activities of the Energy Program, including, but not limited to, the following:

·  Assist in the development, implementation, and operation of core elements of the Energy Program

·  Administration of biofuels program, including the review of applications for consistency with program guidelines and the administration of grants

·  Develop and maintain databases with use of accounting practices

·  Analyze financial data and report results

·  Develop reports and presentations

·  Undertake investigations to confirm delivery of services related to grant funding

·  Promote collaborative relationships with individuals and organizations

·  Identify and pursue collaborative projects on sustainable energy

·  Participate in meetings, workshops, and events to disseminate information and technical assistance to target audiences

·  Identify and/or develop external resources to meet program goals. 

 

Job Requirements: 

·  Proficiency with computer, particularly Excel, and ability to develop budgets and spreadsheets

·  Understanding of energy issues, environmental resource management, and government policy  

·  Strong analytical skills

·  Strong presentation and organizational skills

·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·  Experience with accounting and billing procedures

·  Must fulfill ITAR citizenship requirements. 

 

Education and experience: 

·  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science,  Planning, or related field required; Master's Degree preferred

·  Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of grant administration and/or energy management.
