Engineer - Associate through Principal

The Engineer position is responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating projects and mine plan design work for all future and existing TXU Mine sites. The Associate Engineer thru Principal Engineer prepares a variety of narrative, diagrams, spread sheets, and detail drawings in support of mine operations to ensure maximum productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent:
- Performs basic engineering tasks of design, evaluation, problem solving, analysis, and planning to support development and mine site operations.
- Plan future mine deposits, answer design questions, provide technical assistance to designers who are being developed, attend compliance and key alliance meetings.
- Manage peer review and sets priorities and/or interfaces with other support staff to ensure work projects are completed accurately.
- Identifies the nature of complex or undefined problems requiring judgment, evaluation, or analytical thinking.
- Interface with engineering staff, mine site operations, Environmental Services, and other TXU personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective solutions.
- Certify the work of people working under their direction (Senior/Principal Engineer)
- Works with minimum supervision and spends time constructively, takes productive actions, strives to achieve goals, and complies with work rules.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested.

Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience:
- 0-7+ years of related experience that promotes development in the areas described by the major accountabilities and key competencies for this job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field.
- PE preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office products, basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Mine planning software (Example: SurvCad).
