Engineer Gr4 (Substation Engineering)
Role and Scope of Position
Under general supervision, is assigned work and responsibilities requiring a demonstrated high degree of proficiency in connection with the most specialized and highly responsible engineering activities in agreed upon areas of the Company. The assignments generally offer latitude for independent action, judgment and decision and the exercise of considerable delegated responsibility for planning, designing and interpreting in the field of engineering requiring a broad knowledge of Company practices and policies. Directs and instructs employees of the same and lower ratings, and others as directed. Under directive supervision, assists employees of higher rating. The incumbents in these positions will perform substation engineering work and related standard/specification work.
Qualifications
1. Ability to perform assigned duties in office or field, indoors or outdoors, in all seasons of the year, and for extended periods. Must be able to perform their duties under difficult conditions and at all hours when necessary.
2. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent certificate, from a recognized technical school of collegiate grade. This degree, or the equivalent certificate, must be in a field applicable to some phase of the engineering activities of the Company.
3. Must have demonstrated, during service in the lower ratings of Engineer, capabilities not normally developed in less than seven years service in such ratings, for performing the complex and diversified work activities of this grade with a high degree of proficiency and responsibility. This period of time, however, shall not be construed as an inflexible work experience requirement.
4. Must have during his/her service in the lower ratings demonstrated capabilities, interests, and aptitude for the work of Engineer, Grade 4. Must have demonstrated qualities of leadership and the ability to plan work for, to coordinate and direct the activities of, and to work with individuals and groups engaged in engineering and technical activities.

Compensation
$39.80 p/hr
