About the Opportunity This engineer, located in Reading, PA creates engineering designs for substation projects, including layout drawings, grounding, oil containment, lightning protection, schematics, wiring diagrams and conduit layout. Prepares bills-of-material and specifications for others to procure needed materials for a substation project. Provides engineering support to employees to assist in their learning of substation procedures, designs, and associated issues. Analyzes substation problems and other substation issues and recommends appropriate solutions and alternate design options. Prepares estimates for substation projects. Reviews manufacturer drawings for compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

Must have bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Must have PC skills that include Microsoft applications (Work, Excel, Lotus Notes).

Must be able to work in a substation environment with absolute safety awareness.

Must be able to work extended hours unsupervised and be willing to travel, overnight on occasion.

Must be able to apply technical skills to solve tecnical engineering problems. Must have good electrical equipment and control systems aptitude and be able to apply technical skills to solve practical problems.

Must be able to analyze data, write technical reports and develop recommendations as well as the ability to handle multiple assignments.

Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred for Advanced Engineer. Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certificate required for engineer level.
