Engineering Project Management Contractor Needed

Location: Columbia, SC 29250Duration: 0 – 3+ months, possibility for permanent hire Compensation: $60 - $80/hr, commensurate with experience Position Needs:We are searching for a PM who can assist the Team with turning “rough ideas” in to actual customer projects.  Project budgets will range from $15,000 - $1,000,000.  Activities will include:· Providing technical and administrative leadership within manufacturing/ engineering department. · Directing and providing expertise in manufacturing activities for equipment, systems, and processes for use in commercial nuclear power plants. · Assisting management in planning and coordination, and creating resource loaded schedules with MS Project.· Directing capital project plans for cost effective manufacturing processes. Job Responsibilities: Leading activities necessary to fulfill contractual commitments for large, complex projects with major financial impact. Creating and implementing plans, control technical and financial resources to optimize short-term profitability. Serving as Company representative to customer, architect engineer, constructor and business units. Interpreting and transmitting contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups. Developing and maintaining project summary level schedules. Providing schedule reporting for customer progress reports. Coordinating work activities.Desired Skills/Education: PMI certification. Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical), Technical or equivalent field. 5 - 10+ years of professional experience in combination of the following areas: project management, systems design and/or service operations. Previous work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. Technical leadership in multiple manufacturing processes involving various equipment, systems, processes, and engineering areas. Ability to creatively resolve complex problems by applying in-depth knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and experience with equipment safety, maintenance, qualification, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Ability to guide procedure development and maintenance, personnel training, implementation of steps to consistently achieve quality requirements, operator training, and process improvements. Ability to seek new innovations in materials, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing techniques and evaluate potential benefit/cost offset of their use. Ability to address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns. Ability to use effective project management skills to direct activities to meet project scope, schedule, and capital spending targets.
