Position Overview:Chevron Energy Technology (ETC) is accepting online applications for the position of an Environmental Engineer/Scientist located in Richmond, CA or Houston, Texas.Responsibilities in waste and/or remediation technologies. The successful job candidate will manage, participate in and provide TECHNICAL expertise to environmental waste and/or remediation projects for Chevron’s international and domestic operations. (This is not a field or project manager position.) In addition, the candidate will provide technical consulting and support on a wide-range of waste and remediation issues. Position includes domestic and foreign travel, with durations ranging from a few days to several weeks.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES? Provides environmental waste and/or remediation technical support to project teams? Develops customized solutions to address environmental problems in regions where gaps exist in regulatory and environmental infrastructure? Provides leadership to project teams on environmental issues? Provides technical environmental advice on legislative and regulatory issues ? Develops and delivers technical environmental training ? Represents Chevron on technical environmental industry and regulatory committees? Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assess scientific risks (risk-based corrective action and risk-based clean-up levelsQualifications:CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED? MS Degree (with strong preference for PhD)? Solid foundation in environmental science or engineering with field experience and specialization in waste and remediation technologies? 5 years' experience in waste treatment technology design and operation (landfill/land treatment unit, incineration and other thermal treatment processes) with expertise in industrial waste, municipal solid waste and hazardous waste, integrated waste management planning, bioremediation and soil composting. ? Chemistry or micro-biology background in physical/chemical treatments of soils an advantage ? Ability to think strategically about environmental issues and to develop action plans to address these issues? International experience an advantage? Oil & Gas industry experience preferred? Strong technical leadership skills ? Excellent oral and written communication skills; foreign language skills highly valued?
