Chevron Global Upstream and Gas is accepting online applications for the position of Environmental Specialist/Advisor located in Houston, Texas through June 1, 2008.Overview:This position will work within the Global Upstream (GU) environmental team to undertake process development and process advisor activities across all of the Global Upstream environmental processes. These processes consist of the Property Transfer, Environmental, Social, Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA), Environmental Stewardship (including the Global Upstream Third party Waste Process and Environmental Performance Standards) and the Site Assessment, Remediation, Restoration Decommissioning and Abandonment (SARRDA) process. The position will be based in Houston, Texas and report to the Environmental Team Leader, GU HES, Houston. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Act as the GU process advisor for the ESHIA process and will represent GU on the Corporate Community of Practice. • Coordinate and monitor ESHIA implementation across GU SBUs and report progress to the GU ESHIA process sponsor. • Coordinate the implementation of one or more of the GU HES Environmental Performance Standards. • Oversee development and implementation of training programs for ESHIA Facilitators • Assist with the development of tools and guidance materials to support all the environmental processes • Support the implementation of the Environmental Stewardship process and help with the deployment of training programs and the development of tools and guidance materials. • Selection and mentor responsibilities for both campus new hires and interns. • Participate in various environmental peer review teams and represent Global Upstream on Corporate peer reviews and audits as required.• Attend and deliver presentations, at the OE Forum and other selected internal and external conferences and exhibitions.• Assist with the implementation of corporate initiatives.Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and/or safety/engineering field.
