About This Opportunity
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:Establish and maintain equipment qualification (EQ) packages, the Electrical EQ Master List, Maintenance Assessment Packages (MAPs), and maintains design basis information (HELB analysis, radiation analysis, ventilation analysis) related to EQ. Interfaces with other groups to resolve issues. Perform technical evaluations as required by station engineering programs. Responsible for identifying results to station management, for reporting conditions which do not meet acceptance criteria, and for tracking and trending results for the long-term.Responsible for developing solutions to technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenance. Responsible for preparing calculations, specifications, technical reports and presentations. Provide leadership in development of common practices, policies and methods to improve fleet plant safety, reliability, efficiency, cost and outage performance. Interact with industry best plants and organizations to find best practices, new technologies, industry trends and upcoming regulatory changes to position FENOC for continuous improvement. Candidate must also possess the skills and attitude necessary to objectively assess Perry's EQ Program and modify EQ driven Preventive Maintenance (PM) task frequencies to improve Safety System Unavailability.Manage and complete assigned activities to support timely implementation of required plant operations both outage and on-line. Perform field walk downs and interface and coordinate activities performed by outside engineering/consulting service companies and other groups to resolve emergent plant issues. Some travel to support industry training, Fleet program implementation and resource sharing should be expected.Perform emergency response organization duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; however, other Bachelor of Engineering degrees in Mechanical and Chemical disciplines will be considered. Minimum 5 years experience in Nuclear Power or Industrial activities in Design, Procurement, or System Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and equipment qualification program or process experience. Must be able to work independently with little supervisory involvement. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Applications) are required for trending system data. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical ability are required. Demonstrated proficiency and ability to solve moderate to difficult technical problems in a sound and efficient manner. Willingness to work occasional odd and extended hours as plant needs dictate. A 60 minute response time to plant to support emergency response organization required (relocation benefits available).Employment contingent upon successful completion of background investigation.Pre-employment drug screening required.
