You will be the Facility manager in charge of all facility functions in a Solar Panel High Volume Manufacturing site located in Sacramento, California. You will report to the Operations Director for the site on day to day operations (solid line) and dotted line reporting to the Hayward Facility Manager.
· Management of the facilities department by planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling, evaluating, and budgeting while obtaining objectives; cost-effectiveness, productivity improvement, efficiency and employee quality of life.
Responsibilities:
The following are duties and responsibilities which are required of the Facilities Manager:PlanningOrganizing by Function, organization, or buildingStaffing: Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. (20 to 40 people.)Directing: Develops, evaluates, or reviews plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities; assesses feasibility of proposals. Work schedulingWork coordinationPolicy and procedure developmentControlling: Evaluates proposals for specification compliance and makes recommendation of award. Work receptionStandard establishment (dollar range, quality, quantity, time to deliver)SchedulingUse of management information systems and basic computer literacyContract administrationPolicy, procedure, and project executionApproves, signs and/or implement applicable documents, actions, processes, programs, etc.Evaluating: Monitors and evaluates operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement. DesignPunch-list preparation and executionPost-occupancy evaluationProgram analysisContractor evaluationLife Safety Systems – Gas and Fire will be controlled by the Facility Dept.Coordinates the development of comprehensive master plans; ensures diverse interests, directions and policies are represented and consistent. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc. Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses feasibility of proposed plans, projects, tools and equipment.Manage "out-source functions" such as:Utility Maintenance – Linc Corp.SecurityJanitorialProvide formal Quarterly Reports for Quarterly Operations meeting.BudgetsDowntimeCurrent and new projectsActively supports the Emergency Response Team, ERT.
Experience:
· Bachelor Science (BS) Engineering; and 15+ years Facility Management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Skilled in Microsoft office functions; CAD; Microsoft Project; etc.
