Position Description:
This Financial Analyst position works closely with Kennecott management to report and track costs, provide cost variance explanations, and assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting. The person in this role will perform financial analysis of plant costs to understand how, where, and why costs are being generated, what costs are controllable vs. non-controllable, and provide important data and insight to support business decision making. Position also is responsible for the plant’s accounting.

Additional duties include:
Provides financial and business analysis to the management team
Assists with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Responsible for the maintenance and month-end closing of the plant cost ledgers
Reporting and analyzing actual plant results
Liaising with the plant management team and the finance team
Participate in strategic business evaluations (CEA and NPV evaluations, Ad Hoc projects and research)




Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's level degree in finance, accounting or related field required
At least three years experience either in a professional practice or a commercial enterprise is required
SAP/ ERP experience preferred
CPA preferred but not required
Strong analytical skills, competence in all Microsoft desktop products and good communication skills are pre-requisites. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with all levels of management and professionals with diverse backgrounds
