We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position at our Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. Headquarter located in Bryn Mawr, PA:  Financial Information Systems Database Administrator

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Financial Information Systems Database Administrator / PowerPlant will be responsible for basic management and support of high performance and highly available FIS database platforms and systems at Aqua America.

 

The primary focus of the duties of the Financial Information Systems Database Administrator / PowerPlant is to Design, Develop, Administer and Maintain database systems support of the company's financial systems and related policies. This primary emphasis of this position is database administration support of the PowerPlant application. Additionally, the incumbent will provide basic database administration support of Lawson, Hyperion, XRT, and Business Objects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

Review and design of database structures to support business requirements including logical and physical database modeling.

 

Installation, configuration and maintenance of database instances, creates various database objects, creates users with appropriate roles and levels of security.

 

Perform regular administrative tasks such as database backup and restore, database analysis and tuning in a development and test Plan and coordinate database changes, installation of upgrades, patches and new versions.

 

Develops and implements database security consistent with Aqua America’s security guidelines.

 

Designs and implements database replication, cluster and data guard strategies, database integration design and plans database backup and recovery processes.

 

Performs Oracle database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.

 

Provides Oracle/ SQL Server DBA support and technical support for multiple applications in development, test, QA and production environments.

 

Research and resolve Oracle Database and application problems.

 

Program and debug SQLPLUS and PLSQL routines.

 

Develops, documents, and communicates Oracle database standards and procedures.

 

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing priorities.

 

Participates in the disaster recovery process.

 

Provide support for all implemented database platforms.

 

Participates in on-call rotation.

 

Understand Java/Oracle application Framework, and J2EE framework.

 

Must possess good project management skills.

 

Possess written and oral communication skills to prepare and communicate programming plans and procedures as well as to interact with all levels within the team and company.

 

Develop alternate Business Processes and suggest modifications and improvements.

 

Provide support of additional projects as assigned.



 

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS

 

Four year degree in Computer Science / Information Technology; or four to seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of database design and programming experience3+ years as an Oracle DBA.Previous experience with implementing Financial Information System software Oracle DBA certification is desiredSQL Server DBA experience will be a plusWorking knowledge of PowerPlant a plusWorking knowledge of any major ERP application such as: Lawson, Oracle Financials, SAP Financials, JD Edwards, and PeopleSoft.
