Financial Specialist

Responsibilities:-Perform highly specialized accounting work requiring comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial theory and principles (including SFAS 133), with a particular emphasis on accounting for wholesale electricity markets.-Utilize accounting and management information systems to identify, analyze and interpret financial information including profitability, budget/actual variance analysis and balance sheet reviews. -Prepare various reports for internal and external customers, including quarterly SEC reporting.-Identify efficiencies and lead efforts to automate and/or improve accounting processes and controls.-Provides leadership as a technical advisor.-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and/or functional business lines.-Perform special ad hoc analyses, as required. Qualifications:Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.Basic Qualifications:-Bachelor degree in Accounting/Business/Finance required. Other Qualifications:-A minimum of five years accounting experience is preferred. -Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CMA, CIA, etc.) or MBA desirable.-Ability to interpret and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to complex energy transactions.-Highly dependable and accountable, with strong degree of ownership over work.-Strong analytical and decision-making skills.-Effective oral and written communication skills.-Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
