Responsible for planning, managing, and providing oversight, governance, and direction for project design engineering for the electrical discipline. Implement the Design Engineering Program for assigned projects and discipline. Lead the design engineering effort for assigned projects. Manage engineering contractors for assigned projects. Provide discipline-specific design engineering support to non-contracted projects. Serve as fleet-wide discipline design advisor to Station Production Managers, Outage Managers, Project Managers, and System Engineers. Work at multiple locations at different types of power plants in both plant and office environments. Assess evolving design technologies for their potential to optimize plan economy, reliability, and performance. Skilled in using engineering and design software. Proficient in developing and working with engineering specifications, drawing, and other documents. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management’s expectations for effective internal business controls. Manage and work with contract employees with skills, accountabilities, and expertise in the following: Civil; Structural; Mechanical; Piping; Electrical; Controls; Environmental; System engineering; Scope development; Design engineering; Project scheduling; Quality management; Safety Management. Participate in Root cause analysis and Lesson learned. Candidate must possess the following education, experience, technical skills and behaviors: BS in electrical engineering required and 5 years experience in power project design engineering and 5 years experience working on moderate to large projects; Experience in plant and system design and technical support; Project Management; Technical communications skills; Ability to multi-task and focus; Analyze and diagnose systems and processes; Engineering and design software; Engineering documentation; See the big picture, exercise sound judgment; Self-directed; Establish a role model for teamwork and cooperation; Recognize and appreciate contributions of others; Take personal accountability of actions and results; Focus on measurement of results; Demonstrate Power Behaviors; Promote close and effective multi-group integration. Certification as a Professional Engineer desired.
