Gas Control Analyst

Job ID: 14618Location: Atlanta, GADepartment: 1370-Gas ControlEducation Required: High School DiplomaExperience Required: 1 - 3 YearsPosition Description: Basic Function:Provides analytical support for Gas Control by ensuring real-time operational data is properly assimilated to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Works as liaison between Gas Control and other departments within AGLR and companies outside the organization to ensure daily operating requirments are followed and customer service standards are satisfied. Works closely with Gas Control management to monitor daily activities/processes as well as documentation and dissemination of any changes to appropriate employees and affected parties outside of Gas Control. Primary function is to continually improve and maintain business processes within department. Representative Duties and Responsibilities:• Ensures all Gas Control operational procedures and policies are properly documented and disseminated• Develops reporting tools in the form of databases, spreadsheets, reports, etc. used to meet the needs within the department, and meet all business requirements outside the department• Develops options and provides recommendations to improve business processes• Works with various business units that support Gas Control and maintains working knowledge of relevant technologies and optimizes accordingly to ensure best practices. • Ensure project evaluation standards, methods and practices are maintained• Works closely with Gas Control to ensure day to day business processes are maintained with maximum efficiency and modifies accordingly to meet all internal and external business requirements• Assists in developing, maintaining and conducting internal training for Gas Control personnel • Administers and maintains Operator Qualifications in accordance to company policy• Interacts with internal and external groups to develop and maintain effective working relationships• Works closely with departments (i.e. field operations, engineering, sales & marketing, IS&T, etc.) on projects that directly affect Gas Control, Gas Supply, and Capacity Planning.• Participates in Company sponsored technical training programs and cross-training assignments to improve knowledge and skills of self and others.• Required to learn the job functions of a gas controllers duties and responsibilities.• Occasionally required to work on a twelve hour shift schedule to backfill and perform job responsibilities of a gas controller at managers discretion.Disclaimer: This information describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this job.
