General Estimator - Oil & Gas

Estimator - Oil/Gas industryHouston, TXEngineering, Procurement and Construction firm in Houston, TX is currently seeking an Estimator.  This role requires an experienced estimator capable of handling, managing and leading small and medium sized Lump Sum EPC oil and gas project estimates with minimal supervision.  Qualified candidates must have the capability to understand all discipline estimates and also be capable of developing conceptual or budget estimates. Company has many gas plant projects nationwide and overseas. Responsibilities:§ Understand the work, the engineering scope definition deliverables and knows how to generate a complete estimate through final cost (all materials, fabrication, subcontracts, construction, localization and indirects) for all work required for a project and take responsibility for the complete cost estimate. § Be capable to organize and plan the estimating effort, including leading and guiding the discipline estimators. Lead estimating team, including detail & discipline estimators§ Developing the estimate plan in accordance with the execution strategy and sales strategy§ Setup up and maintaining the estimate files.§ Coordinating with other team members (engineering, procurement, subcontracts, construction) to define and obtain information needed for the estimate.§ Ensuring that the estimate efforts occur in the proper sequence, within the scheduled time frame and meet the requirements of the execution strategy, sales strategy, and contract.§ Ensuring that the estimate is complete, correct, and accurate.§ Developing the basis of estimate document including qualifications.§ Reviewing the appropriate sections of proposal to ensure alignment between the estimate and the proposal.§ Leading Estimate Reviews.§ Communicating the Basis of Estimate to the Project Team.§ Conforming the Estimate to As Sold Contract Requirements. Qualifications:§ A degree is preferred, but not essential.§ Good computer skills are required - Microsoft Excel and Word at a minimum.§ Database experience is preferred. § Leadership skills and a "results-oriented" mentality are requirements for this position. § Must have the ability to work in cross-functional team environment.
