General Manager - Service Center Operations

 General Manager  Excellent opportunity for a General Manager who will be overseeing a Service Center that will provide service to Minneapolis-St. Paul metro residents and businesses in the area of Heating/Ventilation/Air-Conditioning.    Responsibilities:  The General Manager will be responsible for the overall general management of a 70+ employee Service Center for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Key responsibilities will include overseeing HVAC Service Technicians,  Customer Service, Service Center Communications, Human Resource Management, Asset Management, Purchasing, and Safety and Security.  Operations Management: The GM will analyze operating statements for center and individual departments and will prepare accurate monthly forecasts and annual budgets for senior management.  The GM will also implement customer credit procedures and apply job-costing procedures and accounting control principles for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. An essential part of this role is implementing and supporting Flat Rate Pricing System and establishing service and product pricing for the territory.   Sales: In addition to operations management; planning, setting, and achieving sales goals will be an integral part of this role. Generating and responses to sales leads, managing customer order and fulfillment processes, coaching sales teams, and implementing a customer focused selling approach are key to the success of the Service Center. HR Function:  The GM will be tasked to identify and hire high-performance employees and will continually orient, train, and develop a highly skilled team of Professionals and Service Technicians to service the metropolitan area. The GM will identify capabilities of Service Technicians and establish productivity rates.  Routing and scheduling based on geographic accessibility, establishing installation guidelines, implementing logistics processes for product delivery are primary functions of this position. Additionally, the GM will implement and approve all compensation requirements, conduct performance appraisals, provide counsel and discipline for employees, ensure compliance with Federal and State legal requirements, and develop employees and seek promotional opportunities for staff.   Asset Management: Ensuring routing building and grounds maintenance, providing maintenance and protection of company assets and providing a safe and clean work environment will the responsibility of the General Manager. Purchasing: The GM will be responsible for forecasting equipment needs and maintaining proper inventory levels, establishing and maintaining procedures for ordering products and supplies, and controlling costs as well as establishing receiving and storage procedures.   Requirements:    ● Several years of management experience managing at least 50 employees.  ● Experience working in a union environment.  ( Electrical, Pipe   Fitting Unions. ) ●  Experience with Heating/Ventilation/Air-Conditioning preferred,   but not required  ● College Degree  Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
