Geotechnical Engineer Project Manager

 Civil & Environmental Consultants, headquartered in Pittsburgh PA, currently has an opening in our Pittsburgh PA  office for a Geotechnical Project Manager. Following is what we are looking for in order to be qualified:

 BS or MS in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering. 7 to 10+ years experience, PE registration preferred with appropriate experience. Experienced candidate should have related work with geotechnical analyses and construction materials testing. Effective verbal and technical writing skills preferred.

 Duties:Project management of current geotechnical engineering projects.  Geotechnical project assignments will include geotechnical subsurface investigations related to site civil and landfill design (building foundations, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, and pavements), as well as management of construction materials testing services for commercial and landfill projects. Typical geotechnical subsurface investigation project duties will include coordination or monitoring subsurface drilling, obtaining soil and rock samples, preparing boring logs, developing laboratory testing programs, interpreting laboratory data, performing geotechnical analyses, and report preparation. Typical construction materials testing project duties will include management, coordination, supervision, review and direction of technician staff for earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry and pavement construction testing.
