Basic Purpose:
Drive commercial contracting excellence, security of supply and risk management through the initiation and implementation of effective and efficient drilling contracting strategies, and the development of key stakeholder and vendor relationships for BHP Billiton's worldwide drilling operations.

Key Accountabilities Define, develop and implement effective contracting strategies which enable the drilling teams to deliver on all of their objectives Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that vendors are positioned to deliver on our requirements (HSE, quality, availability, competency of personnel, delivery, security of supply etc.) Assurance of global compliance with BHPB Corporate, CSG and S&L policies, procedures and statutory requirements Commercial contracting excellence and effective risk management for all drilling contracts Internal/ external benchmarking activities to achieve performance improvement (contract structure, incentive schemes, contractor management etc.)
Responsibilities Global contracting standards & guidelines - work with all other stakeholders (HSE, tax, legal, risk, finance) to drive continuous improvement of processes & procedures emphasising standardisation Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key contractors and suppliers to ensure best service, commercial terms, surety of supply and optimal leverage Align contractual, commercial and risk guidelines and approval policies to ensure effective governance
