HVAC Building Automation Technician
SUMMARY
Brady Services is an established leader in the North Carolina HVAC industry and is the regional Commercial Sales Office for The Trane Company in the Raleigh/Durham marketplace. This is an entry level position in Brady’s Building Automation Systems (BAS) division involved heavily in the installation and programming of Trane’s Tracer Summit and Tracker energy management systems. The first year of employment will focus on training through hands on experience in the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Creation and programming of Site databases
Development and testing of site graphics.
Technical writing and documentation of systems sequence of operations
Checkout and troubleshooting of communication links or local area networks
Development and troubleshooting of system programming code.
Coordination with customers and subcontractors for the timely execution of assigned projects.
Selection, procurement and distribution of project materials.
Configuration, setup and calibration of end devices and factory or field installed hardware.
Creation of project turnover package to service including commissioning sheets, backup databases and any owner training documentation.
Maintaining good communications with all team members.
Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
Ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
Obtains acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required. Some travel with occasional overnight stays.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Familiarity with the operation of energy, management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Programming experience
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers and service personnel.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mechanical and mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
· Knowledge in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems and managing subcontractors.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge with of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls a plus.Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft products preferred.
