IT Architect II - Senior Architect

Job Description:Exhibits abstract thinking and a broad understanding of business and technology spanning the entire enterprise. Responsible for complex, large-scale assignments spanning multiple functional areas with high corporate impact. Able to recognize application patterns and design reusable components. Responsible for the conceptual design of implementation strategies on assigned projects. Responsible for the preparation of resource estimates, evaluations, and recommendations. Develops and maintains necessary documentation of systems, projects, and/or processes to ensure unified understanding of system details. Participates in the review, evaluation, and recommendation of emerging technologies. Participates in and leads development reviews; directs development assignments. Demonstrates expert level problem solving, decision-making, and functional area knowledge. Mentors and provides functional/technical leadership and work direction to staff. Quickly grasps new concepts/technologies and rapidly transforms ideas into practical solutions. Able to perform all these duties with minimal direction from senior staff.The successful candidate will be given assignments within the Commercial Operations IT System Planning department. Primary role will be to provide augmentation to Business System Analysts in defining and specifying IT solutions from a technical perspective for various business units within Commercial Operations..General Skills* Work under the supervision and guidelines of the department Manager and will work closely in support of business process owners and all users of proposed or existing systems within technical area of expertise * Work closely with the IT Development, Support, and Infrastructure teams on projects throughout the entire SDLC to ensure successful implementations (e.g., supportable, response time, scaleable, etc.)* Provide input into the decision making process for the setting of AEP architectural standards * Participate in the preparation of estimates, evaluations, and recommendations* Assist Business System Analysis in the development of technical project documentation* Provide input to testing strategy and deployment plans* Provide status updates to Department/Project Manager(s) and Business Process Owner(s) for assigned deliverables* Communicate any concerns and issues that may affect project schedule and/or user acceptance of the developed application, early on, to Manager, project controller (if applicable) and Business Process Owner.Technical Skills- Experience designing advanced Application Integration solutions using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in a Web Service environmJob Experience:Eight or more years of related experience and at least a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or related field equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
