The IT Manager, [Indiana] job's primary responsibility and accountability is to work with their Director, IT and their assigned business segment’s management team to provide customer-focused, value-added IT services. 

Key outcomes for success include:
* Being seen as a value-added member of the business segment’s IT team, who helps facilitate positive IT service delivery for that business segment
* Business segment management who are knowledgeable about IT’s services and performance
* Successful alignment of IT’s service, performance and the business to ensure customer satisfaction
* Contributing to proactive recommendations and delivery of cost effective business process and technology solutions that enable the achievement of business objectives
* Contributing to effective technology decisions based on sound business requirements, business cases and strategic technology plans
* Effective implementation of IT related change, including all essential communications
* Business segment IT needs prioritized appropriately based on budgetary framework, business segment objectives and overall corporate objectives


Essential Responsibilities:
* Prepare for and, as needed, participate in key business segment and IT strategic planning and operating review sessions, including enterprise architecture reviews
* Regularly review IT’s performance and customer satisfaction with business segment managers and seek feedback with a focus on continuous improvement
* Establish and then proactively educate and promote the value of IT services to the business
* Prepare for and facilitate application, infrastructure and/or business segment service request prioritization process
* Assist in effectively monitoring IT related budgets
* Utilize knowledge of regulatory and Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements when advising the business on IT solutions
* Regularly integrate with and share lessons learned and best practices with other IT Managers
* Contribute to continuous IT process improvement projects, as needed

 

 

Qualifications

 

Selection Criteria:
* Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related fields or equivalent work experience
* Business knowledge and a minimum of 6 years practical experience serving as a key liaison between the business and IT
* Strong skills in the areas of team facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, process mapping, problem solving, stakeholder management and project management are required
* Broad knowledge base of IT industry disciplines and approaches
* Excellent written, organizational, listening and oral communication skills
* Experience working with management level customers
*

* Strong financial acumen and experience helping to build business cases
* Knowledge of regulatory issues and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
* Be willing to travel to business unit locations, as needed
* PC Tools skills:  Familiarity with MS Project and Visio; Proficient in MS Office
Additional Information (optional):
* Knowledge of energy/gas and electric utility industry a plus
