IT Professional (College Hire - Entry Level)

PSEG is looking for 2007/2008 college graduates for an entry level, developmental position in Information Technology. This position prepares candidates for advanced information technology positions through challenging assignments. Assignments may include:

• Facilitating the relationship between IT and the business units in the day to day support of IT products and services.
• Providing a full range of technical support to clients on the use and application of Enterprise Products.
• Designing information technology solutions to address business needs.
• Providing technical analysis and support for PC/LAN, midrange, and infrastructure products and services.

Initial assignment includes Windows 2003 system administration and support; troubleshooting hardware and software problems on Dell Enterprise servers; providing third level support for client network/server related issues; provide support for Citrix Terminal Server application hosting environment; provide support for Microsoft SharePoint environment; assist in the build, imaging and QA of new server infrastructure; familiarity with EMC SAN management tools and technology, and Symantec virus and firewall software.


Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related discipline. Good communication skills, analytical ability, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff. Strong technical proficiency and excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have a basic knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, third party management tools, Citrix Server, VMware, SharePoint, and a strong knowledge of MS networking administration. Requires callout to support 24X7X365 operations.

Desired: MCP, MCSE, VB Scripting. SQL Server 2005 knowledge.
