Description:The Whiting Business Unit (WBU), a 410MBD refinery, is the second largest refining asset owned by BP and is the fourth largest refinery in the United States. The refinery resides on 1,400 acres and stretches acres three communities, one being Whiting, IN. Whiting is located in the Chicago metro area, approximately 15 miles south of Chicago along Lake Michigan at the border between Indiana and Illinois.Subject matter expert for industrial hygiene related policies and programs across the refinery. Provide technical industrial hygiene guidance and support for the refinery. This position is part of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Division at the Whiting Refinery, reporting to the Safety Team Leader. This position provides a partnership role in leading health/IH performance across the plant, interacting with managers, superintendents, supervisors, and represented crafts and operators. In addition, this position takes a key leadership role for compliance with Federal and State industrial hygiene regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor Of Science in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Safety, or related discipline.The preferred applicant must have eight plus (8+) years of industrial hygiene experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas process operations or a chemical plant environment.
