Information Technical Analyst I - IT Security

The United Illuminating Company, headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut is an investor-owned regional electric utility that provides service to more than 320,000 customers in the greater New Haven and Bridgeport area.

Develop, maintain and monitor innovative information systems and system modifications, under direct supervision, using knowledge of UI's standard development tools and the business needs of the client. Create programs and solutions through consultation with both the client and senior members of the IT team. Analyze requirements, and assist in developing programs/solutions and estimate completion. Assist in developing test plans and testing solutions. Document and assist in implementing programs/solutions. Assist clients in the use of applications.

This position specifically will provide security event analysis and escalation. Conduct routine configuration and maintenance of security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS, and applications. Troubleshoot client issues. Participates in Incident Response process.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/software engineering or related IT discipline and 0-2 years of related experience. Knowledge related to data access management, software development, database technologies, programming, networking or operating systems is also required.
