Instrument & Control Technician

Business:  AES Huntington Beach is a 904 MW gas fired plant consisting of 4 steam turbine units located in Southern California/Orange County, 35 miles south of Los Angeles. 

Responsibilities: Strict adherence to safety regulations and plant policies.Perform work in connection with testing, calibrating, maintenance, repair and replacement of power plant process instrumentation and control systems. Coordinating activities with Operations, maintenance, Engineering and contract personnel for maximum plant safety and efficiency.Monitor work request and record work results in the CMMS plant work order system.Perform trouble shooting as needed to identify potential or actual equipment problems.Perform and document Preventative maintenance on all necessary instrumentation equipments according to manufacture and/or Plant requirements.Update equipment documentation and drawings as needed.

 

Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years experience in Instrument and controls maintenance. Excellent communication skills.A flexible “whatever It Takes” attitude.Must be results oriented, self motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision.Strong interpersonal relationship skills.Read and understand P&ID’s, Loop sheets, Schematics and other craft related drawings.Preferable experience in ABB Infi90 and APACS DCS, Allen Bradley PLC, Continuous Emissions Monitoring system.Computer literate and competent in the use of MS word and Excel.Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
