Internal Communications Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Coordinate and implement internal communications plans and programs to support the strategic goals and business objectives of Sempra Energy and its business units. Consult, advise and implement communications strategies, methods and tactics. Research, write and edit all types of internal communication materials. Ensure internal/external communications are integrated. Collaborate with other departments to develop/implement successful plans and strategies for the company. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate corporate strategy and key messages to a wide variety of audiences, in clear language. Ability to understand and adapt to different audiences, their needs and potential reactions to communications strategies. Understanding of communications channels, production and distribution. Strong editing and written communications skills. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong judgment, creativity in preparing oral, written and electronic communications. Working knowledge of corporate intranet strategies and best practices. Experience with video production. Detail-oriented, excellent follow through and project management skills. Strong commitment to quality and accuracy. Self-starter.
