Chevron Mining Inc. is accepting online applications for the position of Journeyman Instrumentation located in MountainPass, California through May 19, 2008.Overview:The position is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining all industrial instrument equipment with demonstrated proficiency with instrumentation test equipment including voltmeter, ammeter, pressure calibrator, control loop simulators, temperature transmitters, and instrument calibration and setup software. Ability to Troubleshoot and repair process control instrumentation systems including flow loop elements, pressure loop elements, temperature indicating and control systems, pH analysis equipment, and computer process control systems including programmable logic controls and distributed control systems.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Ability to troubleshoot and program Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC) and Distributive Control Systems (DCS).• Process knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot transformers, motors, controls, control valve maintenance/repair, generators, conduit, power & lighting circuits, instrument loop controllers, programmable logic control, and transmitters.Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Experience in instrumentation calibration, including both electronic and pneumatic instruments.• Knowledge of electrical codes required.• Must have five (5) years minimum experience• Hign School or GED required.• This job falls into the “Heavy” physical demand category which requires physical handling of tools, equipment parts, pipe and steel up to 100 lbs., climbing stairways and vertical ladders to access equipment, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, squatting, kneeling, crawling, lifting and carrying, work in cramped conditions and awkward postures, working at high elevation, work in extreme weather conditions at various times.• Shift work may be required.Relocation Options:Relocation will not be considered.International Considerations:Expatriate assignments will not be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-CA-Mountain Pass Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Manufacturing/Production/Operations
