Lead Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:



Drive innovation and change in business processes and coach and mentor other supervisors.Provide proactive leadership and direction to transmission line services personnel to ensure that high standards of safety, security and environmental compliance are developed and consistently maintained.Take the lead in developing and implementing departmental work processes.Work closely with other departments and/or contractor personnel to develop a construction work plan, detailed schedule, S&H plan prior to the start of work. Ensure that group resource needs are adequately identified and assigned to fully support the Transmission construction work plans, including schedule and budget.Take a proactive role interfacing with the appropriate individuals to fully understand program needs and ensure that promised commitments are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with internal and external resources for pre-bid and pre-construction meetings as required.Participate in construction conference calls, meetings, project meetings as needed.Provide input to scheduler to ensure timely performance metrics and EVA is available for the department. Assure that assigned personnel are properly directed, trained, licensed and evaluated within Company guidelines and procedures.Maintain a thorough understanding of department emergency response procedures to help arrange and provide resource support as needed. Assist Manager as needed.





Job Qualifications:



Degree in electrical engineering; or equivalent education and development.Minimum ten years experience in construction, operation and maintenance of transmission facilities with strong understanding of Construction Standards and work methods.Strong knowledge of Federal, State, OSHA, local, company safety and environmental rules and regulations. Demonstrated commitment to safety.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with self-direction and high motivation.Ability to read construction field issues, prints, specification sheets, schematics, one line diagrams and instructional information to construct, maintain and troubleshoot substation equipment.Thorough understanding of electrical principles and the hazards associated with electrical Transmission work and possess good mechanical aptitude.Knowledge of company maintenance practices, safe work practices, Clearance and Control rules and labor contracts. Able to travel throughout the service territory and work extended hours and weekends in emergency situations as needed.
